大家好，我是留学服务中心的Iris老师。第一次给大家提供“干货内容”，内心还是小小紧张了一下。上课这么久以来，接触的学生越多，也发现了很多大众存在的问题。今天这个小技巧，其实不单单适用于学生——无论是考试还是平时学习，都可以作为你的提升技巧。
问题提出
如果有人问，单词重要吗，一百个学生里估计一百个都会回答：重要。中国考鸭在词海里奋斗了那么些年，有人考虑过红宝书绿宝书上的词汇在考场上的使用率吗？很多词，我们背了，忘了。考场上浮现在脑海里的依然是with the development of our society, more and more, nowadays, people, important之类的词汇。问题出在哪里呢？

技巧分析
孩子们，你们的问题不在于背单词的量，而是“use”。背了单词然后孤立它，不使用，结果这个词就等于不属于你。如何让辛苦记忆过的单词属于你，不再离开你？在不同场景以不同的形式反复地使用是关键。
如在剑桥雅思11的真题：
Some people claim that not enough of the waste from homes is recycled. They say that the only way to increase recycling is for governments to make it a legal requirement.
To what extent do you think laws are needed to make people recycle more of their waste?

同学们非常想知道recycle的同义词怎么办？备考时间比较充分的学生可以考虑寻求科技的帮助，。
我们可以看到，recycle本身的同义词真的不多，reuse跟convert可算是比较实用的。那么我们在此学习了一个新词 convert (to cause something or someone to change in formor character)，大家来造一下句子：
Legal regulations successfully force companies to convertwaste materials into new materials, which can help save energy and lower greenhouse gas emissions.
Convert只能用于recycle吗？答案不是的。我们在很多题目下都可以用上这个词。

Participating in sports is important to physical health as well as spiritual health and social development. Do you agree or disagree?
Older people used to hate exercise, but recent scientific researches have converted them to it.
eg.2（剑10）
Many museums charge for admission while others are free. Do you think the advantages of charging people for admission to museums outweigh the disadvantages?
In recent days, many exhibitions can be converted toa digital format and shown online so that some museums do not need to charge for admission to get maintenance fees.
运用第三遍后，convert就是你的了。

回到剑11关于立法回收垃圾的问题。我们来换个角度思考，回收，也就是把垃圾分类收集（put/collect the waste separately）并且再次利用（reuse）。那接下来的问题，很多同学嫌弃put这个词太low，我们还认识其他的“放置”吗？不知道？
其实我们早早见过一些好词，比如大家常背诵的听力词汇表里的deposit（n.）押金，deposit (v.) 作动词用意思是to leave something somewhere，本文章中的句子可写成:
The government made it compulsory for every household to deposit their weekly waste in a special dust-bin.

使用不同词形，效率更高。
在乏味的词汇记忆过程中，词性是很关键的。英语中的词汇经常能以不同的词性出现，比如形容词、副词、名词等。
eg.1
我们在阅读过程中遇到一个词interaction (n.)，像交流互动这种常用词汇，它的四种词性都值得我们进一步了解。
名词：Online interactionis very different from talking withsomeone face-to-face.
动词：The Internet makes it possible tointeract with people infaraway places.
形容词：Some computer games are highlyinteractive.
副词：Some social networking sites allow usersto communicate interactively.

It is important for children to learn the difference between right and wrong at an early age. Punishment is necessary to help them learn this distinction.
To what extent do you agree or disagree?
题目可改写为：
Importantly, some people stress the necessityto punish young kids.

由此见得，我们拥有很多隐藏技能。只要在备考中学习一些常用词汇并且加以分析跟总结，技能提升不是梦。
其实，写作部分的词汇记忆在精不在量，想要提高词汇部分的得分，大家需要在平时积累一些好词的用法，在至少三个以上的场景使用它，这些词就会成为你的长期记忆，最后在考场上助你一臂之力。
