1. Opinion essay
此类作文主要考查考生陈述个人观点的能力。
想要获得高分，考生需清晰地阐明理由，使用相关例子去论证其观点。
2. Opinion essay常见的提问方式：
1） What is your opinion?
2） Do you agree or disagree?
3） To what extent do you agree or disagree?
4） Do the advantages outweigh the disadvantages?
5） To what extent do the advantages outweigh the disadvantages?
例题：
Some people believe that the fast pace and stress of modern life is having a negative effect on families.
To what extent do you agree or disagree?
3. 题目分析：
每个雅思作文题目都包含一个主题（topic）和一个问题（question）。
写作时务必要着重围绕该主题和问题去写，才能在task response（任务完成度）一项获得6分或更高的分数。
如上面的例题里，第一句为主题，第二句是问题。
主题：Some people believe that the fast pace and stress of modern life is having a negative effect on families.
主题句里有并列连词and，那么记得and连接的两个方面都要写到，即fast pace 和stress of modern life都要写。
问题：To what extent do you agree or disagree?
回答这个问题有2个要求：
1）必须表明你是否同意（agree or disagree）；
2）在多大程度上同意或不同意（the extent／how much you agree or disagree）。
为突出你的观点立场，建议在开头段和结尾段都提及自己的立场。
如果是100%同意或不同意的话，可以用totally 或completely agree／disagree；如果是部分同意或不同意，可以用somewhat或partly表明自己的立场。
尽量避免50%同意或不同意，否则会导致你的立场不够说服力或不够明确。
4. 作文布局
1）用下划线画出主题句里的重点词汇，并用相关近义词作替换。
如上面例题中，重点词汇及其替换词：fast pace (high-speed), stress (pressure), modern life (contemporary lifestyles), negative (harmful), effect (influence), families (family life)。
2）判断是哪种提问类型。
To what extent do you agree or disagree? ＝ say how much you agree or disagree
3）快速头脑风暴，简要列出同意或不同意的关键论点：
Agree with negative effect on families：a) less time for families to be together；b) arguments among family members
Disagree with negative effect on families：a) be forced to cooperate more, which brings them closer together
4）阐明个人观点立场 (totally agree, somewhat agree, somewhat disagree, totally disagree)
阐明个人的立场，无须两边都论述，只需按自己觉得更好写的一边论述即可。当然，你也可以选择部分同意或不同意，两边都论述，最后阐明更倾向于哪一边观点也可。
5）敲定作文结构
根据自己的立场，在作文主体部分（body of the essay）就应先论述你更支持那一边的观点论据，然后按论据由强到弱去布局主体部分。
5．作文写作步骤
一旦有了结构布局，就可以动手写了。
1）复述题目
根据上面的重点词汇替换，把原题目重写一次，但记得不要一字不漏抄写！一定要替换复述！这样才能在有限的作文字数里体现你的vocabulary and grammar水平。
Many people feel that family life is being harmed by the high-speed and pressure of contemporary lifestyles.
2）阐明立场（totally／strongly／somewhat＋agree／disagree）
在开头段阐明个人观点立场以及简明理由。
I somewhat agree with this opinion because the fast pace leads to less time for families to be together, stress leads to arguments among family members; however, due to the increased time pressure and stress families are forced to cooperate more, which brings them closer together.
3）主体部分
主体部分一般由2-3段组成，具体可按所列的论点分段论述。
每个主体段应以主题句开头，后接支持该主题句相关的解释说明（explanation）、例子（example）或细节（details）。
4）结尾部分
用概括性的词语（In conclusion／To summarize等）引出结尾段，然后总结个人立场和所论述的观点论据。
6．Opinion essay作文模版
P1. Introduction
I totally agree/disagree with this opinion because … (理由1+理由2).
P2. Body
The main reason why I believe/don’t believe XXX is because … (理由1).
P3. Body
Another reason why I support/don’t support the notion that XXX is due to the fact that… (理由2).
P4. Conclusion
In conclusion, I completely agree/disagree that XXX because (改述理由1) and (改述理由2).
