雅思考试中如何使用名词为写作加分？

为什么要“名词化“？

名词化通常被用在制造更学术，更客观的语气中。虽然含有主动动词的句子确实会更生动有趣，但这些句子比名词性的句子缺少了严谨。另外，名词化可以增加语言使用的多样化，可以避免重复使用同样的词汇或者形态。

来看看词组如何名词化：

conclude that… → draw a conclusion that…

visit some place → pay a visit to some place

invest…in … → devote an investment to…

be popular → gain its popularity

be humorous → have a sense of humor

be important → be of importance

be valuable → be of value

be useful → be of use

be helpful → be of help

be efficient → be of efficiency

来看看句子：

第一种写法：

More and more people agree that women should enjoy full equality with men.

第二种写法：

There is a growing agreement among people that women should enjoy full equality with men.

分析：句子要表达的大概意思是：“越来越多的人觉得女性和男性应该享受平等的权利。”第一种写法用“more and more people”作主语，这样的表达本身没有问题。但在英文写作中更加倾向于第二种写法，也就是说英文写作不用总是用人称代词作主语。

再看看几个案例：

1. In general, it is plausible to suppose that we should prefer peace and quiet to noise. （IELTS剑桥真题7TEST4Passage3）

2. The public preference for going by bicycles reflects their dissatisfaction with bus service. 这句话的另一个版本是There are many people who prefer to go by bike, because they are not satisfied with bus service.

大家可以随意感受一下，哪个版本看起来在词汇的选择方面更加更靠近高分。

高分词汇满足以下条件：

1. 丰富的词汇量(sufficient range of vocabulary)，

2. 在词汇使用方面体现出灵活性(flexibility)

3. 在词汇使用方面体现出准确性(precision)，

4. 在使用不常见词汇的同时也能对语体(style)和搭配(collocation)有一定了解

很明显，The public preference for going by bicycles reflects their dissatisfaction with bus service.这句话在灵活性上更加分。
