Since the end of June, there have been at least 450 cases reported across 33 states.
Most were teens and young adults.
Most worrying: There have been 8 deaths.
Symptoms have included shortness of breath and chest pain.
Although there’s no definitive reason yet, all patients had used E-cigarettes before falling ill.
Government data show last year, 1 in 5 high schoolers reported recent E-cigarettes use， a 78 percent jump over the year before.
That finding prompted the FDA to restrict the sale of flavored e-cigarettes.
Experts say e-cigs contain nicotine which damages the respiratory system.
The flavoring ingredients have not been tested to see if they are safe.
Heating the flavors can produce toxic and even carcinogenic chemicals.
