关于农业这个话题我不得不提一嘴，我之前考口语的时候就在Part3 被问到过了，考官问了我中国现在种植食物和古代有哪些不同。

农业科技的好处

1化肥可以提高农作物的单产。工厂化农场有确保动物更快生长的效果。这些方法可以解决粮食短缺问题。

Fertilizers can boost crop yields. Factory farming has practices to make sure animals grow faster. These methods can tackle the food shortage.

2现代农业技术依赖于机器的使用，这可以减少劳动力成本，并使食物更便宜。消费者可以减少食品开支。

Modern farming techniques rely on the use of machines, which can reduce the labor cost and make food more affordable. Consumer can cut the spending on food.

3一些转基因食品是抗虫的。一些农作物还能够承受极端天气条件。这可以大大增加粮食产量。

Some GM food varieties are pest-resistant. Some crops are also capable of withstanding extreme weather conditions. This can increase food production significantly.

4有机农业对消费者有利。不使用化学药品种植的农作物对食用者无害。这些做法也是无害环境的。

Organic farming is beneficial to consumers. Crops which are grown without the use of chemicals are harmless to eaters. These practices are also environmentally sound.

Chemicals normally contain toxic substances. Factory farms use anti-biotics, which can cause food poisoning, if not removed from food effectively.

The overuse of fertilizers, pesticides and herbicides can also cause land degradation, damage the nutritional value of food and give rise to crop failures.
